SEVEN CORE HABITS TO INCREASE YOUR INCOME
Published on 28 Jul, 2023
In today’s Newsletter you will learn about the seven core habits we will be building during the 21 Day ‘Business Breakthrough’ 👊 Challenge that kicks off on Tuesday the 1st of August.

These seven core habits have been designed to grow you and your income:

  1. Gratitude
  2. Write down your most important goal
  3. Set your three high value tasks for the day
  4. Connect with three new people each day
  5. Make three new business offers each day
  6. Follow up with three people each day
  7. Reflect on your day

None of these habits are ground-breaking in and of themselves.

But very few people make these habits a part of their identity.

And why is that?

Well Jim Rohn said it best.

“The things that are easy to do are also easy not to do. This is the difference between success and failure.”

Successful people are willing to do what unsuccessful people are not willing to do. Successful people don’t necessarily enjoy doing these things. They still feel the same fear and resistance as everyone else. But successful people turn these things into habits. And once a habit is formed it becomes a part of their identity.

And just like money compounds when it’s invested, your habits will compound over time.

The actions you choose to do today will become your habits tomorrow.

And these habits will determine your future.

     1) Gratitude

Gratitude is the ultimate state to operate from. Gratitude connects you to the source of all good things.

When you focus on what you already have and what’s great in your life you are operating from a place of gratitude and abundance. There is no lack in this state.

What’s one thing you’re grateful for right now?

Many people who order their lives rightly in all other ways are kept in poverty by their lack of gratitude. Having received one gift from God, they cut the wires which connect them with Him by failing to make acknowledgement.

It is easy to understand that the nearer we live to the source of wealth, the more wealth we shall receive; and it is easy also to understand that the soul that is always grateful lives in closer touch with God than the one which never looks to Him in thankful acknowledgment.”

~ Wallace D. Wattles, ‘The Science of Getting Rich’

     2) Write down your most important goal

One of the great secrets of life is ‘you become what you think about.’

Every time you write down your goal you are thinking about your goal.

Each time you think about your goal you become more emotionally involved with your goal.

So understand that by writing down your goal each day, you are on your way to becoming your goal.

In Jack Canfield’s book ‘The Success Principles’ he spoke about a study conducted by David Kohl, professor emeritus at Virginia Tech on goal setting.

“80% of Americans report that they don’t have goals. Some 16% say they do have goals, but they don’t write them down. Less than 4% take the time to write down their goals, and less than 1% review them regularly.

This small percentage of Americans, who write down their goals and review them regularly, earn 9 times more over the course of their lifetimes, than those who don’t set goals.

     3) Set your top three high value tasks for the day

Most people wear ‘busy’ as a badge of honour.

Let me tell you right now that being busy is BULLSHIT.

It’s not about how busy you look or how many tasks you tick off your to-do list each day.

What moves the needle forward is completing a few high-value tasks each day.

High value tasks move you towards your goal.

These tasks help you grow your business, grow your income and most importantly grow yourself.

     4) Connect with three new people each day

If you want to grow your business then you must expand your network.

Because your network equals your net worth.

This means you must start having more conversations with people.

New connections lead to new conversations. And in time these conversations will lead to new customers and clients.

Become curious about other people. Find out who they are, what they really want and what challenges they’re having.

Go into every conversation with the intention to add value. Not to pitch your offer. But to build a genuine connection. Because you never know where that one conversation could lead to!

5) Make three new business offers per day

If you have a service or product that can help someone solve a problem they have then you are doing them a DISSERVICE if you don’t make them an offer!

Selling is SERVING.
And when done in the right way with the right attitude it feels great for both parties.

Yes, it will feel uncomfortable at first.
Yes, you will face rejection.
Yes, you will get ‘no’s’.

But think about this for a second.

How many cars drive past McDonalds every single day?

Thousands if not MILLIONS!

Every time a car drives past McDonald’s they are saying ‘NO’ to McDonald’s.

Yet McDonald’s still serves millions of customers every day and earns billions of dollars per year!

In this challenge you will celebrate the ‘yeses’ and the ‘no’s’.
Because the ‘yeses’ will build your business.
But the ‘no’s’ will build your CHARACTER.

And to breakthrough in your business it requires you having a strong character.

     6) Follow up with three people each day

“The fortune is in the follow up.”

As a successful business owner it’s your responsibility to follow up your leads.
It’s your responsibility to build and nurture your list.
It’s your responsibility to set the date and time of when you will follow up and keep your word.

So many sales never eventuate because the businessman simply did not make the effort to follow up.

These statistics come from Jack Canfield’s classic book ‘The Success Principles’

“Herbert True, a marketing specialist at Notre Dame University, found that:

44% of all salespeople quit trying to sell to a prospect after the first call
24% quit after the second call
14% quit after the third call
12% quit trying to sell their prospect after the fourth call

This means that 94% of all salespeople quit by the fourth call. But 60% of all sales are made AFTER the fourth call!
     7) Reflect on your day

Reflection is an important piece of the success puzzle.

Each night you will reflect on your wins for the day.

Winning is a habit.

By reflecting on your wins each day you will build the identity of a winner.

And this will lead to more wins and bigger wins in the future!

Summary

I know with absolute certainty that if you commit to this challenge 100% and perform these seven core habits each day then you will experience a breakthrough in yourself and your income.
