“If you’re havin’ girl problems I feel bad for you, son. I got 99 problems but a b*tch ain’t one.”
What does this line from rapper Jay-Z have to do with money?
Absolutely nothin’
Other than today is the 99th edition of my weekly newsletter!
First name / Friend, I’m curious, have you ever experienced a time when you procrastinated on something you really wanted to do? And then you finally did it and wondered why you put it off for so long?
That was me last week.
One of my goals this year was to launch a podcast.
It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time now. This year felt like the year I was going to make it happen.
A mentor of mine who has a successful podcast showed me what I needed to do to get going. It was so much simpler than I thought!
Back in March this year I recorded my first three episodes.
But I didn’t have a cool intro.
And I thought I needed a cool intro before I could launch my podcast.
So I stopped…
I got in my head.
I started to procrastinate.
It all seemed too hard again.
I decided to put the podcast project on the back burner and justified in my head that it wasn’t as important as some of my other projects.
I accepted the podcast was probably not going to happen this year…
Last Monday, I was having a session with one of my coaches.
I was sharing with him how I wanted to start a podcast and all the cool ideas and guests I had lined up for the podcast.
He could see how lit up I got when I was talking about it.
Him: “Why haven’t you done it yet?”
Me: “I thought I needed a cool intro track…”
We both started laughing out loud!
He shared his screen with me and showed me the backend of his podcast and how simple it was to make a cool intro recording.
This was the final ‘push’ I needed.
In that moment I made the decision to stop procrastinating on this project. I realised how much I’d been wanting to make this happen, and now was the time.
Thursday morning I sat down and got stuck in.
After many failed attempts, I finally recorded an intro and outro I was happy with.
The first three episodes that had been collecting dust for the past six months were ready to go.
I clicked some buttons – and boom!
‘Money Mastery with Marshy’ went LIVE.
