He invited me to visit his BNI chapter. Which I ended up joining. And which became a major component of my life for the next two years.
Not only did he introduce me to BNI, he also became a client of mine. He was my first long-term business client. And still to this day, we’ve continued our coaching relationship. But it’s also deepened into a great friendship.
A couple weeks ago,
I invited him to join me on the podcast to share more about his 21 years of experience in the real estate industry.
I was blown away to hear that when he first started in real estate, he overheard his boss tell someone “he’d never make it.”
And this crushed his spirit and made him feel worthless.
You’d never have guessed it. Because he’s now so well-respected and operates with such great energy and gratitude.
After that crushing experience, he moved to London and got a job selling high-end coffee machines at Harrods (a luxury department store).
And it was here that he learned sales is simply providing solutions to problems. And he became one of their top salesmen.
One of his younger colleagues aspirationally said to him:
“Wow, you’re incredible. I want to be just like you.”
And that comment made him realise that perhaps he wasn’t worthless.
He’d found his mojo.
And this inspired him to get back into the real estate space. Eventually founding the multi-award winning agency Xsell Property in 2015.
This is a story of resilience and persistence in the face of adversity. And a great insight into what it takes to become successful in the real estate space.
