2) More Focus + More Time = Accelerated Growth
I’ve felt like I’ve had WAYYY more time since being off socials.
This has given me the space and mental clarity to focus on developing high value skills.
One of the essential skills you need to learn if you want to make money from business is how to craft great offers.
It’s a skill set I realised I needed to work on. I know I’m damn good at what I do, but being able to effectively communicate and highlight the value of your offer is a whole other ball game.
During this detox I’ve been studying Alex Hormozi’s masterpiece – ‘$100m Offers’.
(This is a must read if you’re in business or want to make money online)
But reading a book will only get you so far.
Sometimes you need a mentor who has already mastered the skill you want to learn to chew the fat with.
So I re-engaged one of my former mentors.
We had a 1:1 session and I felt so energised after!
So many ideas started flowing through. On the back of this session the ‘Wealth Accelerator Session’ offer was born.
He gave me a recipe to follow to launch my offer. I felt hesitant at first. But I took ‘messy action’ and made it happen. This meant sending out a lot more email content than I usually do.
This resulted in the most unsubscribes I’ve ever got in this duration of time (ouch).
But he reminded me, if people aren’t unsubscribing – then you’re not sending out enough emails.
Upon reflection I realised,
“I love receiving emails from the people I subscribe to. I wish some of them would send more! – and even if they’re selling something through a promotion I get to learn their process.”
Some people just want free, free, free – and when you put a paid offer out they get offended.
People who love ‘free stuff’ but never spend any money to solve their problems are called ‘kangaroos’.
Meaning – they love stuffing as much ‘free stuff’ in their front pouch as possible, but their arms are too short to reach around and grab their wallets from their back pockets.
LOL
3) You need to create space in your life for magic to happen
Nature abhors a vacuum.
Meaning – nature HATES empty spaces.
Deleting social media creates space in your life for new opportunities to present themselves.
An entrepreneur mentor of mine from Toastmasters invited me to an Entrepreneur Organisation (EO) event.
I said ‘yes’ to his invitation.
When I go to events I’m someone who always sits at the front and engages as much as possible. Because I know showing up IS NOT what’s important (despite what the gurus tell you).
It’s HOW you show up that matters.
At this event my energy and enthusiasm didn’t go unnoticed.
On the back of this event I:
- Was invited to another 3 x face to face networking events
- Got the opportunity to interview the facilitator on my podcast
- Had entrepreneurs and biz owners throwing their biz cards at me
I realised that face to face networking is one of my superpowers.
It’s hard to get a feel for someone’s energy when you’re reading their words through a screen.
But when you meet someone face to face – it’s a completely different experience.
After 2 and half years of going to Toastmasters every Wednesday night – I’ve found my confidence is at an all new level.
I don’t feel like an imposter anymore when I enter rooms full of entrepreneurs and business owners.
- I know I belong there
- I know I am a man of high value
- I know I give massive value to the people I connect with
(Wallace D. Wattles calls this ‘the impression of increase’)
Three Closing Thoughts
1) When your gut tells you to do something that doesn’t logically make sense DO IT.
2) Check the ‘screen time’ on your phone and see how many hours of your life you’re wasting on social media.
3) Delete social media for 30 days and see what magic shows up in your life.
